SM Denies Cover-Up Accusations, Explains When They Learned About The Investigation Into Taeil’s Alleged Sex Crimes
SM has issued a statement in response to the 1st official police statement on the matter of the ongoing investigation against Taeil!
After being accused of a sex crime, NCT’s Taeil is facing significant backlash. With the police statement saying that received a report regarding Taeil’s alleged sex crime in June and have been investigating since then, some began to wonder how SM only cut off Taeil now.
SM Entertainment then issued a follow-up statement to clarify that both the company and Taeil first became aware of the allegations in mid-August.
SM also added that the police questioned him on August 28.
Taeil had been under investigation since June for the alleged crime, but during this period, he continued to participate in NCT’s album activities and fan meetings, which has now drawn considerable criticism.
Following the allegations, Taeil’s photos were removed from the fan community platform Weverse, and his personal account was unfollowed by NCT’s official social media accounts and other members of the group.
