Former X1 Member Leaves Agency, Future With Group Unknown Yet
DSP Media has announced that its exclusive contract with artist Son Dong Pyo has come to an end, confirming the termination took effect as of August 26th, 2026.
In a statement released on August 26th, the agency opened by saying, “Hello, this is DSP Media. We sincerely thank the fans who have always given artist Son Dong Pyo such generous support and love.” The agency explained that the two sides had held long and in depth discussions about Son Dong Pyo’s future direction ahead of the contract’s expiration, and after careful mutual consultation, ultimately decided not to renew, allowing the contract to end upon its scheduled expiration. Son Dong Pyo first debuted in 2019 as a member of the group X1, and went on to build a wide-ranging career, including activities with the group Mirae in 2021, as well as continued work as a solo artist and broadcast personality that earned him a great deal of love from fans over the years.
Wrapping up its statement, DSP Media expressed its gratitude toward the artist, saying, “We sincerely thank Son Dong Pyo for the time he spent with DSP Media, and we will wholeheartedly support the new beginning that lies ahead of him. We ask for your continued interest and support for Son Dong Pyo’s new journey going forward. Thank you.”
