Son Heung Min Reportedly Caught Up in Marriage Rumors Over Ring Spotted on His Finger

Soccer player Son Heung Min has reportedly been caught up in marriage rumors.

On July 25, a video capturing a fan’s encounter with Son Heung Min was uploaded to social media. The clip showed a fan meeting Son Heung Min, who currently plays for LAFC (Los Angeles FC), getting an autograph, and chatting with him.

However, the video drew attention for an unexpected reason: a ring was spotted on the ring finger of Son Heung Min’s left hand as he signed autographs for fans. A ring of the same design was also reportedly visible in official off-field photos of Son Heung Min posted by LAFC’s official account, drawing further attention.

Online users speculated that the ring Son Heung Min is wearing is from a French luxury jewelry brand. As the piece is reportedly part of a wedding ring line priced at around 9.7 million KRW (about $6,520), some have speculated that Son Heung Min’s marriage may be imminent.

Son Heung Min previously made his stance clear in a 2019 interview with the UK’s The Guardian, saying, “If I get married, football would no longer hold the most important place in my life,” and stating that he wanted to focus on football throughout his active career. Even before that, he had consistently told media outlets that he wanted to “get married after retirement.”

However, in a recent interview with US entertainment and sports outlet Us Weekly, he showed a shifted stance on marriage, saying, “I think I’ve reached an age where it wouldn’t be strange for me to start thinking about starting a family and having a stable life.” He added, “No one knows what will happen in the future,” but said, “I really love kids. I’m looking forward to seeing what changes the future might bring, myself.”

When asked whether he would personally coach his children in football if he has kids in the future, he said, “Absolutely not,” expressing his wish to “be a good father who takes great care of his children.”

Son Heung Min’s recent, more positive remarks about marriage have reportedly added further fuel to the rumors. Separately, some have pointed out that this may be reading too much into the situation, noting that Son Heung Min was previously the subject of similar marriage rumors back in 2023 after being seen wearing a ring from a wedding brand, which ended as a non-event without any official statement from him. Some have accordingly cautioned against excessive speculation.
