Soyeon Personally Reveals (G)I-DLE Renewed Their Contracts With Cube Entertainment During Daesang Award Speech

The group (G)I-DLE announced renewing their contracts with Cube Entertainment and receiving a Daesang.

On the 30^th of November, the 2024 MMA was held at Incheon Inspire Arena, and the “Record of the Year” award went to (G)I-DLE.

Miyeon said: “Such a big award was given. This year, those who loved (G)I-DLE and our music—thank you. My mind went really blank. Because of Neverland, we can enjoy music. Together with Neverland, I want to share this moment. Thanks to all the staff, members, family, and songwriters. I will work harder.”

Minnie, crying, said: “First Daesang at MMA, it’s an honor. Thank you to those loving our songs, to the members I love. This album’s self-production is meaningful, and as the artist receiving this award, I’ll deliver good music.”

Soyeon said: “We’re 7 years; next year is 8. How in 7 years can such a big award be won? What kind of album gets such awards? Maybe it’s thanks to Neverland. Rumors about me alone ending my contract, about (G)I-DLE disbanding, came out so much. Not just me alone but all members renewed. Before going on stage, we talked. It’s all five of us. Next year, the year after, forever—all five. Good music will repay you. I will work harder.”

Meanwhile, MMA honors artists based on Melon data, votes, and expert judgment. Awards include “Top 10,” “Millions Top 10,” “Artist of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” “Best Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Rookie of the Year.”
