The Female Streamer Who Blackmailed One Of The Biggest OG Idols For Over 800 Million Won Will Serve 7 Years In Jail
A female BJ who blackmailed singer Kim Junsu and extorted 800 million won [$588,248] has been sentenced to seven years in prison, with the sentence confirmed by the Supreme Court.
On the 24th of June, the Supreme Court’s 3rd division dismissed the appeal in the extortion case involving BJ A, thereby finalizing the seven-year prison sentence handed down in the second trial.
A, who had been active on the live streaming platform SOOP (formerly AfreecaTV), was charged with extorting a total of 840 million won from Kim Junsu across 101 instances between September 2020 and October 2023. She reportedly threatened to release private conversations with him online after secretly recording them.
Back in February, the first court sentenced A to seven years in prison. She appealed, citing the severity of the sentence, but the second court upheld the original ruling.
After the case became public in November of last year, Kim Junsu’s side stated, “Kim Junsu is clearly the victim in this case. Upon realizing that there were other victims due to A’s threats, he decided to pursue legal action to prevent further harm.”
Kim Junsu also shared through a fan communication platform, “I was harassed for five years and just couldn’t take it anymore. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I did nothing wrong. It’s something from five years ago, and since then, I’ve avoided meeting people, thinking it was somehow my own fault.”
