Famous Korean Singer Betrayed By His Longtime Manager Of 10 Years, Damages Reportedly Massive
Singer Sung Sikyung personally shared his feelings about suffering financial damage caused by a manager he had worked with for over 10 years.
According to MyDaily’s exclusive report on the 3rd of November, Sung Sikyung recently parted ways with his longtime manager, and it was confirmed that during this process, a serious financial issue occurred, causing substantial losses.
On the same day, Sung Sikyung’s agency, SK Jaewon Co., stated, “It has been confirmed that Sung Sikyung’s former manager engaged in actions that betrayed the company’s trust during their employment and work process. Following an internal investigation, we recognized the seriousness of the matter and are currently verifying the exact scope of the damages. The employee in question has since left the company.”
The agency continued, “We take full responsibility for the lack of oversight and are reorganizing our internal management system to prevent a recurrence of such incidents. We sincerely apologize to the fans who love the artist for causing concern.”
According to MyDaily’s investigation, the manager had been in charge of practical tasks related to Sung Sikyung’s concerts, broadcasts, advertisements, and events. The two had maintained a close working relationship, to the extent that the manager had followed him when he changed agencies. Their working relationship had appeared completely ordinary until recently.
However, it was alleged that the manager caused work-related issues that led to financial damage not only to Sung Sikyung but also to external companies and related parties. Although the exact amount of loss has not been disclosed, it is reportedly significant. Sung Sikyung and his agency reportedly learned of the situation belatedly, immediately terminated their relationship with the manager, and confirmed that the individual has now resigned.
Later on the same day, Sung Sikyung posted a long message on his social media, saying, “So many things happened this year. I apologize to anyone who may have felt uncomfortable because of my news.”
He said, “Experiencing betrayal from someone I thought of as family was not easy, even at this age. I tried hard to maintain my daily life, but I realized that both my body and my heart — even my voice — were hurt,” sharing his honest feelings.
Sung Sikyung added, “I keep asking myself whether I can stand on stage in this situation. I want to be in a state where I can say that I am physically and mentally okay. I believe this, too, shall pass, and I will do my best to overcome it well.”
