Famous idol Sung Yuri’s husband could be going to jail for 7 years!
On the 31st of October, News1 reported that during the sentencing hearing held on the 29th, the prosecution sought a seven-year prison sentence for Ahn Seong-hyun. The prosecution also requested a 2 billion won fine [$1,452,828], the forfeiture of two luxury watches, and an additional 1.5 billion won in confiscation. The court plans to issue a ruling on Ahn, who was indicted without detention on September 8 last year, and former CEO Lee at a public hearing scheduled for December 26.
Previously, JTBC’s Newsroom reported that Ahn was accused of receiving billions of won in bribes by promising to list cryptocurrency. He allegedly used a famous golfer’s name to obtain large sums of money without repayment, which led to a lawsuit. Ahn’s side responded, confirming he mentioned the golfer but denied asking for a loan.
Meanwhile, Ahn, who debuted as a pro golfer in 2005 and served as a coach for the national golf team, married actress Sung Yuri in 2017. Sung Yuri, a former member of the group Fin.K.L, transitioned to acting and notably appeared in the MBC drama Monster. In 2022, she shared the news of the birth of her twins.
