Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation, who is marking her 19th debut anniversary this year, has renewed her contract with SM Entertainment.

Recently, SM shared the news via an official statement. They wrote, “We are happy to continue our partnership once again with our valuable artist Taeyeon, based on the trust and bond we have built over a long period of time,” adding, “We will continue to provide full support in various ways so that Taeyeon can shine even more as a global artist.”

Taeyeon debuted in 2007 as a member of Girls’ Generation and later made her solo debut in 2015, releasing hit songs such as “I,” “Why,” “Four Seasons,” “Spark,” “INVU,” and “To.X.”

In December last year, she released her first compilation album commemorating the 10th anniversary of her solo debut, “Panorama : The Best of TAEYEON.”

The news came as a surprise to fans since Taeyeon herself has publicly called out SM’s team for their management of her activities on numerous occasions in the past.

Are you surprised that Taeyeon renewed with SM again?
