EXO’s Former Member Tao Caught In Allegations Of Hiding His Child After His Wife Posts A Beach Video With A Toddler
Former EXO member Tao has been caught up in allegations that he hid the existence of a child.
Tao’s wife Xu Yiyang posted a video on her personal account on October 15 with the caption, “The setting sun crosses the sea and the person I love is by my side.” The video shows Tao and Xu Yiyang walking along a beach at sunset, holding a child’s hands.
Netizens reacted with suspicion, commenting, “The child has already grown this big?” and “Considering that the child can walk and even jump, the child must be at least two years old.”

Some netizens dug up the couple’s past proposal video and raised allegations that Xu Yiyang was already pregnant. In April 2024, Tao proposed to Xu Yiyang during a broadcast filming. They claim that Xu Yiyang in the video is wearing loose clothes and appears to have a somewhat protruding belly.
A netizen’s sighting story also resurfaced. This netizen claimed that in August 2024, Tao and Xu Yiyang went for a checkup at an obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Los Angeles.
Tao’s past remarks have also been revisited. During a live broadcast in October 2024, Tao said, “Spend time with family, spend time with your wife, spend time with your kids,” but then changed his words to “Spend time with your brother.”
In June last year, a Chinese paparazzi also claimed that Xu Yiyang’s mother and a nanny entered the underground parking lot of Tao’s home carrying a baby. At the time, Tao and Xu Yiyang released a statement through their lawyer, but only denied the surrogacy allegations and did not mention whether they had given birth.
Tao debuted as an EXO member in 2012, filed a contract lawsuit against SM Entertainment in 2015, and returned to China. Tao lost the lawsuit but continued his activities in China. In 2020, dating rumors with Xu Yiyang, a former SM Entertainment trainee, were raised, and he officially confirmed the relationship in 2024. Tao and Xu Yiyang married in December 2024.
