The 2024 MAMA Awards Announce Venues And Dates + To Be Held In The U.S. For The 1st Time Ever

The ‘MAMA AWARDS’ is expanding to the United States!

The ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on November 21, 2024 (local time), and then continue at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on November 22 and 23 (Korean time). The event will be held over three days, adjusting to the local times in each country.

The award ceremony will be broadcast live globally through major channels, allowing K-pop fans worldwide to enjoy the event. The first U.S. venue for the ‘MAMA AWARDS’ will be the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, a key location in the entertainment industry, known for hosting the annual Academy Awards.

The ‘MAMA AWARDS’ started in 1999 as Mnet’s ‘Video Music Awards’ and evolved into ‘Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS’ in 2009, becoming the first Asian music awards ceremony in Korea. Rebranded as ‘MAMA AWARDS’ in 2022, it has been hosted in various Asian cities, such as Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan, leading the globalization of K-pop. Now, it is making history by being the first K-pop awards ceremony to be held in the U.S., the largest music market in the world, marking a new chapter in its 25-year history.

The concept for the 2024 ceremony is ‘BIG BLUR: What is Real?’ This theme reflects the merging of different industries in the Big Blur era, aiming to showcase ‘New Things’ born from the fusion of various music, cultures, and tastes. The ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ promises to deliver an unparalleled experience through differentiated stages that blend art and technology, offering global fans extraordinary moments that maximize the charm of K-pop.
