THE BOYZ’s Agency Announces Plans To Sue This Girl Group For Their Lightstick Design Claiming It Plagiarized Their Group’s
THE BOYZ’s agency has issued a statement addressing the plagiarism accusations made by their fans against the girl group QWER.
Earlier this month, QWER released their official light stick, which features a megaphone-shaped design. However, the design drew attention and many of THE BOYZ’s fans claimed it looked a lot like the group’s official light stick, which is also megaphone-shaped. THE BOYZ have had that design for their light stick since 2021.
The fans had been demanding their agency take legal action against QWER since the group did not withdraw their design or address the backlash.
On September 25, ONE HUNDRED released an official statement addressing QWER. They said they had been in discussion with QWER’s agency regarding their design and had requested them to modify it but did not reach a final conclusion. Thus, they’ve decided to take legal action against the group’s agency.

We deeply empathize with the confusion and discomfort fans have experienced due to the recent similarity in the design of The Boyz’s official light stick and the QWER light stick, and we sincerely apologize.
Since a light stick is a precious symbol that connects artists and fandom, we fully understand the feelings of The Bs who must have felt uncomfortable just from the controversy itself.
After recognizing this matter, we continued discussions with QWER’s side and requested design changes, but we have not reached a final conclusion. We deeply apologize for not responding to the controversy more quickly. Going forward, we will strongly respond by including all legal procedures and cooperating with relevant institutions to prevent such incidents from recurring.
We will also be more attentive to ensure that the precious symbolism built by The Boyz and The Bs together is not handled carelessly. One Hunnit will always listen to the voices of fans and act with greater caution and responsibility.
