Former THE BOYZ member New is leaving ONEHUNDRED Label.

According to an August 27th report by Sports Chosun, New recently reached a final agreement to terminate his exclusive contract with his agency, ONEHUNDRED Label.

Both sides are said to have parted ways amicably, on the condition that the contract fee paid at the time of signing would be returned. Rather than a legal dispute, the two settled things through the return of the contract fee and the termination of the exclusive contract, with both sides now going their separate ways.

Last February, the nine THE BOYZ members other than New notified their agency of the termination of their exclusive contracts, citing unpaid settlements and a breakdown of trust, and the court granted the injunction the members filed to suspend the effect of their exclusive contracts.

While New had drawn attention for not joining the lawsuit and for staying on with ONEHUNDRED Label, maintaining his contractual relationship with the agency, he has now wrapped things up through a mutual agreement to terminate the contract. With this, all members of THE BOYZ have now left ONEHUNDRED Label.

Meanwhile, ONEHUNDRED Label CEO Cha Ga Won was arrested on the 3rd of this month on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (fraud). Cha is accused of proposing a business deal to Normus using the intellectual property (IP) of ONEHUNDRED Label’s artists, signing the contract, receiving a 24.2 billion won advance payment, and then failing to actually carry out the business. Cha was indicted while in custody on the 26th.
