BREAKING: THE BOYZ Notify Agency Of Contract Termination, Agency States They Reject It
Most members of THE BOYZ have stepped forward demanding the termination of their exclusive contracts with their agency One Hundred. However, One Hundred has stated that it cannot accept this.
According to the music industry on the 19th of March, among the 10 members of THE BOYZ, 9 members, excluding New recently sent a formal notice to One Hundred with the main purpose of terminating their exclusive contracts.
The members reportedly raised issues such as One Hundred not properly paying settlement earnings.
However, One Hundred stated through a press release that afternoon, “We cannot accept THE BOYZ’s request to terminate their exclusive contracts.”
One Hundred said, “Our company signed contracts by paying a large exclusive contract fee to each member on the premise that all 11 members of THE BOYZ (at the time of transfer) would carry out activities as one team while adhering to the contract period,” and added, “However, due to various controversies involving members last year, this premise collapsed, and a situation arose where one member left the team, making normal group activities difficult.”
They continued, “Nevertheless, we have persuaded partner companies that suffered losses and have been striving to maintain group activities while enduring significant financial deficits.”
THE BOYZ debuted in 2017 and became known through songs such as “THRILL RIDE” and “MAVERICK.” They transferred from IST Entertainment to their current agency One Hundred in December 2024. Of the 11 members at the time of transfer, Joo Haknyeon left the group in June last year due to a personal controversy.
THE BOYZ are scheduled to hold a solo concert from the 24th to the 26th of next month at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul. On this day, The Fact reported that the members were renting a practice room with their own money to prepare for the performance without company support, but One Hundred denied this, saying, “The members are turning away from and refusing the company’s support.”
