The JTBC Drama “The Nice Guy” Ending Explained

The JTBC drama “The Nice Guy” has released its two final episodes earlier today. Let us recap the finale and explain the ending!

Seokcheol calls Oh Sang-Yeol asking him why he killed Wooseok. He tries to deny it and rambles on. Seokcheol tells him to turn himself in so he threatens him using his dad and hangs up. At the same time, one of Seokcheol’s friends gets into Sang-Yeol’s car and steals the USB before he’s caught.

Taehoon recalls what Seokcheol told him and how he said he should bow out from this and he’ll catch Sangyeol alone. He’s worried about him.

Seokcheol meets with Miyoung assuring her he’ll be there for her performance the next day and hugs her tightly as if he’s saying goodbye. She doesn’t think anything of it.

As he drives back from somewhere Sangyeol realizes his car USB is missing and recalls what Seokcheol said, he knows he’s now cornered.

That same night, Seokcheol takes out his family to dinner and they have a great time. He even writes a note to Miyoung and delivers it to her mother’s resting place. He leaves his home.

Seokhee tries on her wedding dress as they’re about to get married. In the meantime, Seokkyung goes to a car dealership and finds a job. After she finds one, Byeongsoo proposes to her to be his girlfriend at the dealership location and shows his bank statement. She frowns and is shocked he’d propose asking her to be his girlfriend like that and refuses to say yes running away in embarrassment but she’s happy.

Seokcheol has one of his people hand in the USB file with the incriminating footage on it. When Taehoon calls him saying he doesn’t have to make such a drastic decision, Seokcheol says its the right thing to do and he has come too far.

Seokcheol walks in to the place and asks Sangyeol to come to the police station with him, of course, a fight ensues and as he’s being overpowered by the many men, Taehoon shows up to assist.

Eventually, Sangyeol runs to the rooftop and they get into a fight. He pulls out a knife and even stabs Seokcheol but he persists and disarms him. Eventually, he beats him up repeatedly but police show up and stop him from doing more.

Miyoung reads a message sent to her phone by Seokcheol and realizes something is deeply wrong, she cries.

Eventually, both men are arrested and Sangyeol is sentenced to 20 years in jail while Seokcheol receives 2 and a half years. He adjusts well in jail and gets visited by Taehoon and his dad often. Taehoon checks up on him and Seokcheol asks him for a favor, its implied he asked for him to settle their debt.

Miyoung even finds out eventually and tries to visit but he cries seeing her and refuses to meet with her after that.

2 years later

Miyoung is now a rising star on SNS, she’s doing well and even recorded a song using part of the lyrics Seokcheol wrote to her in his letter from 2 years ago.

Seokkyung is engaged to Byeong-Soo and now runs her own car dealership. Seokhee graduated and got a job and is doing fine.

When Seokcheol dad visits him before his discharge, he says he doesn’t want to see his family there and wants to leave alone. He also finds out about Miyoung’s rising fame on the radio.

On his discharge day, he walks outside alone and as he walks, he sees Miyoung right in front of him. The two have reunited with tears in their eyes.
