TREASURE’s Junkyu To Temporarily Halt Activities Due To Health Issues
TREASURE member Junkyu will be temporarily suspending activities to focus on recovering his health.
YG Entertainment announced on the 29th of June through its official website, “Junkyu has decided to take a break for the time being.”
According to the agency, TREASURE recently wrapped up promotions for their mini album on music shows. Although Junkyu continued participating in team activities despite not being in good condition, he and those around him concluded that he needed sufficient rest and stability, leading to the decision to temporarily halt his activities.
As a result, Junkyu will not participate in TREASURE’s official schedules for the time being. He will also be unable to join the filming of the promotional video (P/V) for the album track “DANGER.”
The agency stated, “We kindly ask for fans’ understanding. The members and the company will fully support and encourage Junkyu so that he can recover through adequate rest and return as soon as possible in good health.”
Junkyu also shared a handwritten letter with fans through Weverse, personally addressing the news.
“It’s already been six years since I debuted in 2020 and have been running alongside TREASURE MAKER. Receiving so much love has made every moment feel like a miracle, and I’ve been truly happy. Thank you so much.
As I kept running forward and giving it my all, I think there came a point where I gradually stopped noticing the signals from my heart and body. I wanted to show only my best, most professional side, so I kept trying to act like I was okay. But I realized the time had come for me to pause for a while and take a look back at myself.”
After having many discussions with the company, I decided to temporarily suspend my activities and take some time to rest. I’m sorry for worrying you with this sudden news, but I believe this pause is necessary for me to become a healthier and stronger version of myself. I’ll get plenty of rest, organize my thoughts, and come back as my true self.”
He concluded the letter by expressing his affection for fans: “I’m always grateful, and I love you, TREASURE MAKER.”
