TRENDING: This TWICE Member Is Reportedly Signing With Another Agency And Leaving JYP, JYP Responds
TWICE member Jeongyeon is reportedly preparing for her acting debut, and it has been alleged that she recently held a meeting with Varo Entertainment, the agency home to her older sister Gong Seung Yeon and actor Byeon Woo Seok.
According to an OSEN report on the 24th of June, Jeongyeon recently met with representatives from Varo Entertainment for a personal meeting. It is said that they had a serious discussion regarding her future acting activities.
A representative from Varo Entertainment told OSEN, “It is true that we had a meeting with Jeongyeon,” but added, “There is nothing confirmed yet regarding an exclusive contract,” taking a cautious stance.
Jeongyeon is currently cast in the film “New Recruit: The Movie,” marking her big-screen acting debut approximately ten years after her debut in the entertainment industry. The project is a film adaptation of the well-received ENA drama series “New Recruit,” and Jeongyeon is expected to play a nursing officer.
She’s expected to expand her career into acting, and her meeting with Varo Entertainment—where her sister Gong Seung Yeon is signed—has drawn additional attention.
With Jeongyeon showing a strong interest in acting, attention is also turning toward TWICE’s future activities and contract renewal discussions.
Regarding this, a representative from JYP Entertainment stated to OSEN, “We are continuing discussions with Jeongyeon during the contract renewal negotiation period.”
Following fellow TWICE member Dahyun, who is also pursuing acting alongside her music career, interest is growing in what path Jeongyeon will take moving forward.
