Many fans are horrified upon learning that some sasaengs [so-called stalker ‘fans’] have managed to somehow change the inflight meals of the famous boy group TXT!

On June 29, TXT’s Taehyun wrote a shocking post to Weverse that has since been deleted. In the post, he mentions that food order on the plane was changed by someone else and they were stunned to find it changed after they boarded the flight.

Taehyun wrote to Weverser, “We had a fun fan signing event with MOA (the fandom name) and were heading back to Korea, but someone had pre-selected and changed the in-flight meals for the members’ seats.”

He goes on to talk about how he cannot fathom why they did that and also questioned what kind of system allows one to change someone else’s meal without their consent. He said, “It’s not a big deal if we don’t eat it, but I can’t understand why someone would do this and how the system allows changes to someone else’s meal. Don’t worry, we ate beforehand.”

The post has since been deleted but it went viral among all kpop fans as many wondered exactly how a person would be able to mess with somebody else’s meal like that.

Some are saying that some airlines have a chat bot that allows people to change their meals on flight given they provide certain details. The details include their flight details and more sensitive information. This led many to believe that the person who had done this somehow obtained the accurate flight information of the members.

On various SNS platforms, some people sell such information to sasaengs. To combat this, HYBE had said they filed a complaint with the police against a group of individuals who illegally obtained and traded artist flight ticket information on the 18th of June. It has been revealed that these suspects made profits ranging from tens of millions to billions of won [$10,000 to $100,000] by buying and selling flight ticket information of K-pop idols through online chats or direct messages (DMs).

According to media outlets, investigations have shown that these individuals also arbitrarily changed the seats and inflight meals of celebrities, and even canceled flight reservations, causing disruptions to their schedules and losses to their entertainment activities and entertainment companies.

In response to this, HYBE has warned that they will take strict measures without any compromise or leniency, and hold those responsible accountable until the end for the criminal act of commercializing and trading artists’ personal information.

Illegal trading of artist flight ticket information has been a persistent issue in the entertainment industry and fans have been demanding kpop agencies take legal action against such people who sell this information.
