Video Of Famous Kpop Idol’s Attitude Under Fire After Video With Bodyguard Gain Backlash, He Apologizes And Explains

THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo has issued an explanation and an apology after being caught in a controversy over his attitude.

The issue began when a video of Sunwoo leaving a radio broadcast recently surfaced online. In the video, after getting into an elevator, he shouted, “My AirPods!” toward the outside. A security guard who was behind him picked them up and handed them over, but Sunwoo received them with one hand without giving a proper thank-you, leading to criticism for his behavior.

In response, Sunwoo addressed the situation through a fan communication platform, saying, “Everyone kept mentioning the AirPods, so I looked up the video thinking, ‘What’s this about?’ and I saw how it really did look like I didn’t say thank you and just rudely took them.”

Recalling the moment, Sunwoo explained, “A fan shouted something, and I was confused because I didn’t know something had fallen. Once I realized it was my AirPods, I looked around with my eyes, couldn’t find them, and then received them from the staff. I did say ‘thank you,’ but I didn’t bow my head, which made it look rude.”

He continued, “I understand that it could totally come off that way. I usually always say ‘thank you’ when someone holds a door for me or helps in any way. Don’t worry, I’m polite.”

Sunwoo added, “I know I can’t explain myself every single time something like this happens, but if it came across that way, that’s on me, and I acknowledge that. But I always greet the staff who clean the music show sets or work behind the scenes—I try to be polite and respectful so that misunderstandings like this don’t happen again.”
