VIVIZ Members Eunha, SinB, And Umji Vow To Stay Together Under Any Name After Signing With New Agency
Eunha, SinB, and Umji of VIVIZ have shown their determination to keep going together, even if it means doing so under a different name.
The three members are ready to promote together again after signing exclusive contracts with their new agency Uncore on October 5. Their activity name is still undecided, as Uncore discussed using the VIVIZ name with their former agency but did not reach a final agreement over the proposed conditions. Rather than prolong the hiatus waiting for the result, Uncore is also considering starting under a new name. The team name and future schedule will be announced at a later date.
If the name changes, the members will need to announce the new name and explain its connection to their previous activities, which include their 2022 re-debut and songs such as “BOP BOP!” and “MANIAC.”
The announcement ends a long hiatus. Their last album was their first full-length album, released in July of last year, and conflicts with their former agency followed. The three members filed for an injunction to suspend the effect of their exclusive contract against Big Planet Made Entertainment, and the court accepted it in June, but they were not able to return to activities right away.
In the handwritten letter Umji posted for her birthday in August, she told fans she was sorry, writing, “I never thought the hiatus would get this long.” She added that her will, and that of the other members, to continue activities never broke, and that her longing for the stage is becoming the strength to prepare for their next activity.
SinB also shared a message the day after the news of their new agency contract came out. She thanked fans for waiting and promised to work even harder to make up for the time they rested. She also described the three members’ step forward, after starting as GFRIEND and then becoming VIVIZ, as “Act 3 of life.”
SinB also posted a photo of Eunha, SinB, and Umji standing side by side after stamping the contract at the agency. She explained that it was taken while the three shared words about how they had struggled while holding each other up in the elevator. The phrase written over the photo, “Together for a long, long time under any name,” reads as a promise to continue together regardless of the result of the team name discussions.
