All Members Of This Kpop Girl Group Have Left Their Agency And Ended Their Contracts
Girl group Weeekly has officially ended their exclusive contract with IST Entertainment.
On the 26th of February, IST Entertainment released an official statement announcing the news, they wrote, “After extensive discussions regarding future activities, we have mutually agreed to terminate our exclusive contract with the Weeekly members, respecting each other’s opinions.”
The agency continued, “We sincerely thank the members for their time as our artists and express deep gratitude to the fans who have supported this bright and warm journey. We ask for your unwavering love and encouragement for the members as they embark on new paths in various fields.”
IST Entertainment, a company under Kakao Entertainment, was fully acquired by the music rights investment firm Beyond Music earlier this year. However, Weeekly concluded their contract without transitioning under the new ownership. The members expressed both their apologies and gratitude to fans, asking for support in their new endeavors.
Weeekly debuted as a seven-member girl group in 2020, gaining recognition with songs like Zig Zag and After School. In 2022, the group reorganized as a six-member team after member Jiyoon left due to health concerns.
Fans are now curious about the group’s next steps and are wondering whether this means the end of Weeekly.
