Beloved Kpop Girl Group Announces Disbandment
Weki Meki has concluded their group activities after seven years. Three members are currently discussing contract renewals.
On the 16th, Fantagio announced on Weki Meki’s official fan cafe, “After long and careful discussions, Weki Meki officially ended their group activities on the 8thof August.”
The agency added, “Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Doyeon are in talks for contract renewals,” while noting, “Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have decided to terminate their contracts after continuous discussions.”
Fantagio expressed their gratitude, saying, “We thank Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy for their brilliant performances as members of Weki Meki. Although the group activities have ended, we will continue to support them as they move forward in their future endeavors.”
Lastly, they stated, “We and the members of Weki Meki sincerely thank you for the love and support you’ve given over the years. We ask for your continued interest as the members take their first steps towards a new beginning.”
Weki Meki debuted in 2017. They released their final single, “COINCIDENCE,” in June and concluded their seven-year journey with a final farewell to their fans.
