WINNER’s Song Mino Forwarded To The Prosecution On Charges Of Neglecting Military Duties

WINNER member Song Mino has been referred to trial following allegations of neglecting his duties as a social service worker.

Recently, the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office announced that Song Mino was indicted without detention for repeatedly being absent without leave and leaving his assigned workplace during his social service period, violating the Military Service Act.

The prosecution also referred the workplace supervisor, identified as Mr. Lee, to trial on charges of violating the Military Service Act for allegedly allowing Song Mino’s negligence to continue.

Song Mino served as a social service worker at an institution in Mapo-gu, Seoul, from March 2023 to December 2024. He is accused of failing to report to work on time and leaving his post, violating service regulations.

During the police investigation, Song Mino reportedly admitted to most of the allegations related to leaving his post and neglecting duties.

Following this, the police transferred the case to the prosecution, which, after additional investigation, decided to indict him.

This incident has reignited public debate over the service conduct of celebrity social service workers and is expected to have a significant impact, especially raising questions about fairness compared to active-duty service members.

As of now, Song Mino’s side has not released an official statement.
