Known Korean Actors Shock With Sudden Quiet Marriage, Agency Comments
Actors Woo Ji Hyun and Lee Taekyung have gotten married!
On the 26th of April, several media outlets reported that Woo Ji Hyun and Lee Taekyung held their wedding somewhere in Seoul. The ceremony was attended only by family and close acquaintances, the news was not known prior to the report on the day, surprising their fans.
The meeting between Woo Ji Hyun and Lee Taekyung was formed through the short film Lovers of Tomorrow, which was released in 2021. Lovers of Tomorrow is a work based on a novel of the same name. In it, Woo Ji Hyun and Lee Taekyung acted as lovers.
Their relationship, which developed from on-screen lovers to real-life partners, is drawing attention as the birth of a new couple in Chungmuro.
Born in 1986, Woo Ji Hyun debuted in 2014 through independent films. Since then, he has been active across movies, dramas, and OTT series. He appeared in the movie The Plot starring Kang Dong Won, as well as in dramas such as Dr. Romantic Season 3 and the Netflix series Gyeongseong Creature.
In particular, he is currently standing out in the movie Yadang. In Yadang, Woo Ji Hyun plays Oh Jae Cheol, the son of Dongin Milling Group’s chairman. He portrayed a reckless chaebol heir, acting as a colorful character in the early introduction and development of the plot.
Lee Taekyung, born in 1991, is five years younger than Woo Ji Hyun. She also debuted through independent and short films. She appeared in dramas such as Itaewon Class, Jirisan, Military Prosecutor Doberman, and The Uncanny Counter 2.
Regarding Woo Ji Hyun and Lee Taekyung’s marriage, a representative from Woo Ji Hyun’s agency Noon Company said during a call with OSEN on the 27th of April, “Woo Ji Hyun and Lee Taekyung held a quiet wedding on the 26th in Seoul with only family and acquaintances attending. As their relationship pertains to their private lives, we ask for your understanding that it is difficult to provide further details. However, both actors plan to continue their acting careers after marriage. We ask for your support.”
