Beloved Japanese Dancer Yamada Ria, Known For Appearance On Mnet Dance Show, Passes Away At 16
Japanese dancer Yamada Ria, who rose to prominence as a member of Jam Republic on Mnet’s dance survival show Street Dance Girls Fighter 2, has passed away at the age of 16 after more than a year of battling illness.
According to reports on September 25, Yamada Ria died on September 18 after enduring an autoimmune disease for over a year, during which she underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
Yamada Ria first captured attention in 2023 as a member of Jam Republic, the winning team on Street Dance Girls Fighter 2. Her talent and passion for dance made her a standout on the show, and she continued to be remembered fondly by fans even after her competition days.
Following the news, Yamada Ria’s family shared a heartfelt statement on her Instagram, writing, “Ria faced the disease with all her strength until the very end and endured bravely.”
The statement continued, “Ria truly loved dancing. She cherished the bonds she formed with fellow dancers.”
Fans and fellow dancers have since flooded social media with tributes, remembering Yamada Ria’s bright energy and dedication to her craft. She was 16 years old.
