Popular Singer Revealed To Have Held Private Small Wedding Ceremony, Identity Of Her Youtuber Husband Revealed
Singer Younha (Ko Younha, 37) has married the well-known YouTuber Science Cookie (Lee Hyo Jong, 36).
According to Spotv News on the 31st of March, Younha held her wedding ceremony on the 30th at 6 PM at a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. Her husband, Science Cookie, is a popular science YouTuber with over 440,000 subscribers.
Science Cookie, a former physics teacher, creates engaging videos explaining scientific theories such as quantum mechanics and relativity in an easy-to-understand manner. His video series was recognized as an excellent science cultural product by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity in 2018. He is now also active in giving science lectures.
The couple tied the knot in an intimate small wedding attended by about 80 family members, relatives, and close friends. Singer Paul Kim performed his hit song “Every Day, Every Moment” as the congratulatory song, celebrating their new beginning.
Younha has long been known for her deep interest in space and science, earning her the nickname “Cosmic Goddess.” Many of her hit songs are inspired by space and scientific themes, including Event Horizon, which metaphorically expresses farewell through the concept of a black hole’s boundary; Oort Cloud, which personifies the Voyager spacecraft as it journeys to the edge of the solar system; and Salbyeol, which compares herself to a non-periodic comet.
In 2023, Younha was the only cultural artist invited to a presidential luncheon with pioneers of the space industry. She once described her albums as “a product that wouldn’t have existed without scientific achievements.” Her passion for science brought her closer to Science Cookie, leading to their romantic relationship and eventual marriage.
Announcing her marriage, Younha shared, “I’ve found a steadfast life partner.” Science Cookie also expressed his affection by posting “In love” on his social media.
Notably, the wedding date coincided with the third anniversary of Younha’s hit song Event Horizon, making it an even more meaningful milestone in her life.
Younha debuted in Japan in 2004 with the single Yubikiri and launched her Korean career in 2006. She is a beloved vocalist known for numerous hit songs, including Password 486, Waiting, Broke Up Today, Comet, Umbrella, The Real Reason We Broke Up, Event Horizon, and Oort Cloud.
