Two Men Kidnapped And Allegedly Attempted To Murder A Popular Korean Gaming YouTuber, Police Makes Arrests

A group accused of attempting to kidnap and murder popular gamer YouTuber Sutak (real name Go Jin Ho), who has around 1 million subscribers, has been arrested.

On October 30, News1 reported that Incheon District Court judge Yoo Ah Ram, in charge of warrants, issued arrest warrants for two men in their 20s–30s, A and B, on charges including attempted murder and unlawful confinement, citing concerns they might flee.

On October 29, A and B appeared for a pre-arrest hearing wearing hats and masks to cover their faces. When asked by reporters if they intended to kill the YouTuber, 20-year-old A replied, “No.” Both suspects refused to answer questions about their motive, why they went to Geumsan, or if they had anything to say to the victim, entering the court without comment.

The incident occurred on October 26 around 10:35 PM in an apartment parking lot in Songdo International City, Incheon. A and B allegedly forced Sutak into their car, repeatedly struck him with a blunt object, and attempted to kill him. Investigations revealed that one of the suspects had borrowed money from Sutak. They reportedly lured him to the car under the pretense of repaying the debt, assaulted him, and then fled to Geumsan, Chungnam.

Prior to the kidnapping, Sutak had reported feeling threatened to the police, who tracked the vehicle and apprehended both suspects, charging them with attempted murder. Sutak reportedly sustained severe facial injuries.

On October 29, Sutak’s agency Sandbox Network stated, “Sutak is currently hospitalized, awaiting surgery, and focusing on treatment and recovery. We prioritize the creator’s health and safety, providing full support to ensure he can fully recover.”

The agency added, “We are actively taking all necessary measures, including legal action, to ensure the smooth handling of this case and the protection of the creator.”
