Famous 2nd Gen Idol Reveals Sister’s Shocking Cancer Diagnosis That Metastasized, Pleads For Help From Fans To Sign Petition To Help Others
Wonder Girls member and singer Yubin has personally shared heartbreaking news about her family and appealed to the public for help.
On the 1st of September, Yubin posted a long message on her personal channel to share the unfortunate news of her sister’s cancer diagnosis.
She revealed, “My eldest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and has been undergoing difficult treatment since then. Unfortunately, last year, it spread to her brain, and she has been fighting a painful battle day by day.”
She continued, “Thankfully, we managed to find an effective treatment, but due to real-life circumstances, it has become extremely difficult for her to receive proper care. Out of a desperate desire to protect my sister, I sincerely ask for your help.”
Yubin further emphasized, “This is not only my family’s problem but also an important matter tied to whether breast cancer patients in the future can receive better treatment. Even the smallest help will give many patients the strength to keep holding onto hope.”
She ended, “I would be truly grateful if you could lend even the smallest support so that many patients can continue holding onto hope. It is said that you can easily give your consent with just mobile phone verification. I sincerely ask you to join us in the petition through the link below.”
The petition she links to is titled “Request for National Health Insurance Coverage and Expedited Approval of the Breast Cancer Brain Metastasis Treatment Drug Tukysa (Tucatinib).”
The cost of Tukysa reaches 30 million won [$21,533] for a two-month supply. When used in combination with other anticancer drugs, medications that were previously covered by health insurance become non-covered, resulting in patients having to bear treatment costs of up to 200 million won [$143,558] per year.
Her heartfelt message touched fans and the public deeply, and words of support and comfort have been pouring in.
Wishing her sister a speedy recovery!
