Wife Of Famous Former Kpop Couple Reveals She Was Blinded Side By His Divorce Request
Yulhee shared more details about what led to their shocking divorce news!
On the October 22 episode of TV Chosun’s Now I’m Alone, former LABOUM member Yulhee shared her story, two years after starting the second chapter of her life following her divorce from FT Island member Choi Minhwan.
During the show, Yulhee said, “This is the first time I’ve talked about the second chapter of my life. I had a lot of concerns. I was scared, too,” and explained her reason for appearing, saying, “But I felt like my story was needed. I thought it was okay to live like this, but I realized, ‘This has been eating away at me little by little,’ and that’s when I made the decision.”
Yulhee also shared her struggles from her idol days, saying, “Being on stage made me really happy. But since I debuted at such a young age without any social experience, everything except being on stage was psychologically challenging.”
She continued, “When I was going through a tough time, I met my ex-husband, and I leaned on him a lot. We comforted each other. It was a difficult time for him too, so we developed a strong bond. That’s when we started dating, and after our child came, we got married,” she said, mentioning her ex-husband, Choi Minhwan.
When asked when she first felt a crisis in her marriage, Yulhee said, “I didn’t feel it, so it came to me very suddenly. For me, most of my memories are of happiness. I never felt like a ‘crisis was coming.’ But once I became aware of it, it felt like I was living in my own personal hell,” she said tearfully.
Regarding the courage needed to bring up the topic of divorce, Yulhee revealed, “I wasn’t the one who brought it up. So, I don’t really know.”
Yulhee also shared that custody of their children was agreed upon and granted to her ex-husband, Choi Minhwan. She said, “What parent, whether a mother or father, wouldn’t want to see their own children? No one says, ‘I don’t want to live with them, I don’t want to raise them.’ That decision was the hardest,” she expressed.
Starting her new chapter in life, Yulhee was seen using public transportation to attend her scheduled activities. When asked what her main mode of transportation used to be, Yulhee responded, “It was originally a car. After the divorce, the only things I took with me were my clothes and personal items,” explaining why she now uses public transportation.
Yulhee then shared her current feelings towards Choi Minhwan, saying, “When I first decided on the divorce, I thought, ‘Let’s let go of all the resentment after making this decision.’ Now, I have no bitterness at all. In fact, I wish him well.”
