“The Fiery Priest” has confirmed its cast for the highly anticipated 2nd season!
Scheduled to air in the second half of 2024, the new SBS “The Fiery Priest 2” tells the story of a passionate priest named Kim Hae-il (played by Kim Nam Gil) who pursues a drug case in in a city and heads to Busan with his burning sense of justice. It is a comedic crime drama that unfolds.
In “The Fiery Priest 2,” Kim Hae-il (Kim Nam Gil), Park Kyung-sun (Lee Honey), and Ku Dae-young (Kim Sung Kyun) move to Busan and form the ‘Crime Fighting Avengers’ with Detective Gu Ja-young, taking on the ‘Desire Villains’ who are trying to form a large-scale cartel through drugs. It is planned to showcase an upgraded scale, comedic tension, insane chemistry, and refreshing action.
As it returns after five years as the second season in the second half of 2024, expectations are high. In “The Fiery Priest 2,” Kim Nam Gil, Lee Honey, BIBI, Sung Joon and Kim Sung Kyun reunite after five years and create a new synergy with their new characters.
First, Kim Nam Gil will play the role of a passionate Catholic priest named Kim Hae-il in season 2. He has the appearance of a graceful priest named but his personality is a messy.
In season 2, Lee Honey will showcase her outstanding acting skills. She will play the role of Park Kyung-sun, a prosecutor with a flashy speech and toughness.
Kim Sung Kyun will also appear in season 2 as Detective Ku Dae-young. Known for his flashy style and his tendency to cause trouble, his bromance with Kim Nam Gil is expected to gain attention.
Additionally, actor Sung Joon has been confirmed to appear in ‘The Fiery Priest 2’. Sung Joon will be playing the role of ‘Kim Hong Shik’ and is expected to deliver a powerful performance. ‘Kim Hong Shik’ is a character who was sold to Laos as a child and grew up to become a drug lord, returning to his hometown of Busan to commit various crimes in order to fulfill his desires.
Lastly, BIBI will play the role of Detective Gu Ja-young, a passionate drug team member in Busan, showcasing a fresh acting transformation different from her previous serious and dark performances.
Meanwhile, the drama is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2024.
