“Squid Game 2” director Hwang Dong Hyuk has expressed satisfaction with T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun)’s performance, despite ongoing controversy over his casting and acting skills.

In the interview, Hwang acknowledged T.O.P’s past controversies, stating, “T.O.P was involved in a drug scandal in Korea nine years ago, which halted his activities for a long time. This project marks his return after years of inactivity. He plays a character who is a rapper and also a drug addict.”
T.O.P portrays the character Thanos, a drug-addicted rapper, in Squid Game 2. Hwang commented, “I believe it took a lot of courage for T.O.P to play Thanos, as the character shares several negative similarities with his personal history. Despite the long hiatus, T.O.P delivered a very impressive performance as Thanos. As a director, I am very satisfied with how he portrayed the character.”
