Byeon Woo Seok’s Agency Face Even More Scrutiny Over Excessive Airport Protection After New Revelations, Agency Issues Apology
Actor Byeon Woo Seok’s side has apologized for the excessive protection controversy, stating they “feel a moral responsibility” after more fans and just average citizens came forward with more stories from their encounters with the security of the popular actor’s security personnel.
On the 15th of July, Byeon Woo Seok’s agency released an official statement saying, “We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to airport users during our artist’s departure from Incheon Airport on the 12th, where security work was being carried out.”
Previously, during Byeon Woo Seok’s departure for Hong Kong on the 12th, a large number of fans gathered at Incheon Airport. In the midst of this, his security personnel were criticized for flashing lights not only at fans but also at ordinary airport users.
Additionally, there were criticisms regarding the excessive response of Byeon Woo Seok’s security personnel, such as blocking a gate or checking the tickets of lounge entrants.
Particularly, the fact that Byeon Woo Seok’s security team inspected the tickets of aircraft passengers sparked significant backlash. There was even a human rights complaint filed with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, claiming that the security team’s actions were illegal. The security agency had issued an apology over the situation, but the reactions have been lukewarm at best.
Here is the full official statement from Byeon Woo Seok’s agency:
Hello,
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to airport users during our artist’s departure from Incheon Airport on the 12th, where security work was being carried out.
First, we requested the security personnel who flashed lights at airport users to stop such actions after we became aware of it. Although we were not able to grasp the details of the security situation at the gate, ticket, and site, we feel a moral responsibility for the unfortunate incidents that occurred during the security process and sincerely apologize to the affected airport users.
In the future, we will thoroughly check and be cautious to prevent situations that inconvenience not only airport users but everyone involved. Once again, we apologize for causing concern.
