BREAKING: Cho Jin Woong Announces Retirement After Getting Exposed For Past Crimes
The actor Cho Jin Woong, whose criminal history was exposed, has directly expressed his intention to retire.
Cho Jin Woong said through his agency on the 6th of December, “First, I bow my head in apology for disappointing everyone who trusted and supported me due to my disgraceful past actions.”
He continued, “I humbly accept all the criticism, and as of today, I will halt all activities and put a period on my path as an actor. I believe this is the rightful responsibility and duty that I must bear for my past wrongdoing.”
Then he said, “From now on, as a human being, I will do my best to reflect so that I can stand upright on my own,. Once again, I sincerely apologize. I was grateful to everyone I loved and respected.”
Lastly, Cho Jin Woong said, “I am sorry.”
It was revealed on the 5th that Cho Jin Woong committed vehicle theft and other crimes during high school and spent time in a juvenile detention center. After becoming an adult, Cho Jin Woong was also reportedly fined for assaulting a troupe member during his theater days, and there were also suspicions that his driver’s license was revoked due to drunk driving around the time he appeared in the movie Once Upon a Time in High School.
The agency released a statement on the 5th saying, “After checking with the actor, we confirm that there were wrongful actions during his minor years. However, we clearly state that he is unrelated to any sexual assault-related acts.”
They also said, “The actor takes very heavily the fact that there were moments when he caused concern due to poor judgment even after becoming an adult,” and “We sincerely apologize to everyone who received harm and wounds due to the actor’s past wrongdoing.”
Fans are now unsure what this means for the highly anticipated 2nd season of “Signal.”
