Choi Woo Shik Hit With Allegations Of Rude Behavior, Agency Announces Strict Legal Action
Actor Choi Woo Shik‘s agency has announced a strong response to the spread of false information, including claims about alleged rude behavior.
On November 6, his agency Fable Company released an official statement through its official social media regarding false information spreading online.
The agency said, “We would like to address the false information related to actor Choi Woo Shik that is being spread mainly on Threads.”
It continued, “Recklessly posting content that is not true, or maliciously distorting and exaggerating it to create and spread rumors, is a clear illegal act that seriously infringes on the actor’s honor and rights.”
The agency stated, “We are continuously monitoring the posts and their distribution channels and are collecting relevant materials. In connection with this, we plan to take legal action against acts of writing and spreading false information, or reproducing and spreading it.”
It added, “Not only for actor Choi Woo Shik, but we will also respond with the same principle to the spread of false information, malicious criticism, and defamation targeting our actors.” The agency also asked people to refrain from indiscriminately spreading false information, saying, “We will continue to make efforts to protect our actors’ rights.”
Earlier, a post alleging that Choi Woo Shik had behaved arrogantly was uploaded on the social media platform Threads, sparking controversy. A netizen who introduced themselves as a flight attendant claimed to have had an unpleasant experience while serving Choi Woo Shik.
The netizen claimed, “I didn’t know it was Choi Woo Shik. I spoke to him to take his meal order after greeting him, and he snapped at the manager next to him, ‘Hey, what are you doing, he’s talking to me.’ I wondered what kind of person this was, and it turned out to be Choi Woo Shik.”
However, doubts about the truth of the post were raised online. One netizen cast doubt on the credibility of the claim, saying, “Choi Woo Shik is a Korean-Canadian actor. There’s no way his name would be written as Choi Woo Shik.” In the end, his agency has also called the content false and announced legal action. Some have pointed out the need for caution against indiscriminate exposés and rumor spreading, which can harm innocent actors based on unverified, one-sided claims.
