Popular actor Heo Nam Joon’s agency has released an official statement regarding the commotion that occurred during an unofficial fan event organized by his fans.

Recently, fans had organized a birthday café event to celebrate Heo Nam Joon’s birthday. While many fans visited the event, Heo Nam Joon himself also made a surprise appearance.

However, controversy arose as only some fans—those who had received prior notice, acquaintances, or followers of the event organizers’ social media—were allowed entry. Photo sessions with the actor were held privately, leading to complaints from fans who were present at the venue but unable to enter due to locked doors. In response, the organizers explained that “the agency requested assistance with managing the actor’s safety.”

On June 11, Heo Nam Joon’s agency responded to the backlash this caused and stated, “Recently, some fans organized an unofficial event, and in order to express his gratitude for the love he has received, the actor personally visited the site. However, unfortunately, unforeseen disturbances occurred, which was not the original intention. We deeply regret and are saddened by this situation.”

The agency continued, “Going forward, the actor will no longer attend fan events outside of official schedules, nor will he participate in such events without prior official announcements. Heo Nam Joon is always grateful for the sincere support of each and every fan and will respond to that love quietly from now on.”

Heo Nam Joon made his debut in the 2019 film “Like the First Shot”. He gained popularity through dramas such as “Wedding Match”, “Sweet Home Season 2”, “Sweet Home Season 3”, “Your Honor”, “Call It Love”, and “Ask the Stars”. He is also scheduled to appear in JTBC’s upcoming drama “A Hundred Memories”, which is set to air this October.
