Hwang Jung Eum Resolves Legal Issues Related To Her Embezzlement Case With Her Own Company
Actress Hwang Jung Eum has fully repaid the funds she used from her own company, resolving all legal issues related to the embezzlement case.
On June 17, her agency Y.ONE Entertainment stated, “Hwang Jung Eum has repaid in full the funds she used in the form of an advance payment from Hunminjeongeum Entertainment by liquidating her personal assets. The repayments were made in two installments on May 30 and June 5, 2025.”
They continued, “As a result, all financial matters between Hunminjeongeum Entertainment and Hwang Jung Eum have been settled.”
The agency added, “As the owner of a one-person corporation without professional management training, Hwang lacked proper tax and accounting knowledge. She deeply reflects on the controversy caused by this and has been sincerely taking all necessary legal and ethical steps to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
They also stated, “We sincerely apologize for the concern this matter has caused. Going forward, Hwang Jung Eum will take a more careful and responsible approach, seeking professional assistance even in minor areas, in order to regain the trust of the public.”
Previously, Hwang was indicted without detention on charges of embezzling approximately 4.34 billion won (about $3.2 million) from her personal entertainment agency. This included receiving 700 million won (approx. $520,000) as an advance and investing it in cryptocurrency.
In related news, Hwang Jung Eum also recently finalized her divorce.
