Could This Idol-Actress Be The One Replacing Ha Young In “The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call”?

Lovelyz alum Jung Ye In (28) is becoming the new face of “The Trauma Code.”

According to a My Daily report on September 23, Jung Ye In will play Cheon Jang Mi in Season 2 and Season 3 of the Netflix Original “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”

The production team behind “The Trauma Code” held auditions among numerous actresses to fill the void left by Ha Young (33, Ahn Ha Young), who stepped down amid the controversy over her great-grandfather’s pro-Japanese wartime history, and ultimately selected Jung Ye In. According to a source, Jung Ye In’s audition performance was outstanding.

The character Jung Ye In will play, Cheon Jang Mi, is a trauma team nurse and an essential character in the drama — one of the central figures who drives the story alongside Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, and Yoon Kyung Ho. Ha Young played the role in the first season and received a great deal of love for it. However, Ha Young recently became embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that her great-grandfather was Ahn Sang Ho, the first doctor to open a practice in Hanyang and someone who served as a court physician under an extreme assimilation policy within the Japanese colonial governing body. As a result, she had no choice but to step down, and the production searched for a new actress to fill the role, ultimately settling on Jung Ye In.

Jung Ye In debuted with the girl group Lovelyz in November 2014, and first tried her hand at acting in 2017 through the web drama “The Blue C” and tvN’s “Criminal Minds,” showing steady potential as an actress. Since then, she’s taken on a range of characters across various platforms, including TVING/Watcha’s “I Want To Be An Insider,” Drama Box’s “Riddle Chaebol Daughter,” and Naver Clip’s “Vending Machine Ghost.”

“The Trauma Code” will film Season 2 and Season 3 simultaneously, starting next month.
