Famous Korean Actress Reveals Why She Tore A Muscle In Her Right Thigh Filming For Her Disney+ Drama
actress Kim Hye Soo has shared about her injury filming for her upcoming Disney+ drama “Trigger.”
On the 21st (local time) of November, the Disney Content Showcase APAC 2024 was held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Kim Hye Soo, Jung Sung Il, and director Yoo Sun Dong attended the event for their series Trigger, engaging with the press.
Trigger centers on an investigative journalism program that persistently uncovers cases unsolved by prosecutors or police.
Kim Hye Soo, who plays Oh So Ryong, the head of the investigative team, shared insights into the serious themes of the show. She explained:
“We incorporated realistic episodes, including fake news. We worked to balance the heaviness with wit and lighter elements. Each episode has a unique mood. While we aimed to make the messages accessible and engaging, the story we want to tell is clear and purposeful.”
Kim also recounted an injury she sustained during filming:
“In the freezing winter, there were scenes where I had to act physically. While running, I tore a muscle in my right thigh. I thought I’d at least be able to shoot my face, but even that wasn’t possible. We had to reset and reshoot, but that scene turned out to be very dynamic.”
She praised her co-star Jung Sung Il, saying:
“Sung Il is inherently cheerful and sincere. His portrayal in The Glory was an incredible feat of acting. In this series, he shows a different side of himself, revealing a surprising depth. Early on, everyone on set was captivated by his expressions and gaze.”
Jung Sung Il, who plays Han Do, a parachuted-in producer with zero social skills, shared his impressions of Kim Hye Soo:
“While my character is described as a ‘crazy oddball,’ Kim Hye Soo sunbaenim is quite different in real life. However, her confidence and drive match her character in many ways. She’s a person whose unfiltered authenticity is her greatest strength.”
