TRENDING: Lee Seung Gi Terminates Contract With Agency Due To Breach Of Contract

Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi has officially notified his agency, Big Planet Made, of his contract termination.

Yoon Yong-seok, a lawyer from Hyunmyung Law Firm representing Lee Seung Gi, released an official statement on the afternoon of the 6th of Aprl. He stated: “Lee Seung Gi notified Big Planet Made Entertainment Co., Ltd. of the contract termination at the end of March due to a breach of the exclusive contract. Consequently, the exclusive contract has been legally terminated.”

The lawyer further explained: “Despite recent issues surrounding the agency, the departure of other affiliated artists, and the non-payment of certain settlement funds, the Artist initially made efforts to maintain the relationship of trust. However, settlement payments have not been made from last September until now. Additionally, there have been problems regarding support for the Artist’s entertainment activities and payments to on-site staff and related external vendors.”

Regarding the situation, the lawyer added: “When the Artist requested access to basic documents concerning the contractual relationship to ensure transparency in settlements, this request was denied without justifiable cause. Therefore, the Artist notified the termination of the exclusive contract at the end of March, effectively ending the contract completely.”

Yoon concluded: “Moving forward, the Artist will do everything possible to prevent any unforeseen damages to related parties resulting from this situation and will fulfill all scheduled engagements without interruption.”

Big Planet Made Entertainment, a label under One Hundred, is currently experiencing a wave of artist departures due to trust issues across the label. Taemin, The Boyz, VIVIZ, Lee Mu-jin, and B.O have recently notified their contract terminations as well.

In response to Lee Seung Gi’s contract termination notice, a representative from Big Planet Made told MK Sports: “Our company is doing our best to normalize operations as soon as possible, and we are continuously consulting to resolve the relevant issues smoothly.”
