Famous Actor’s Agency Releases Rebuttal Regarding Exaggerated Reports Of Spending 12 Hours On A Fanmeeting In China
Actor Lee Soo Hyuk’s agency has released a second statement regarding the controversy over his alleged mistreatment at a fan meeting in China after their 1st caused quite the backlash.
Previously, Lee Soo Hyuk held his solo fan meeting “Eternal Magic Hour: 赫然心动” in Hangzhou, China on August 30, which sold out within two minutes of ticketing opening. However, local media reported that due to excessive ticket sales, he was forced to sign autographs for 12 hours and even showed signs of dehydration. There were also allegations that organizers threatened him by saying, “Don’t even think of leaving China until you finish signing.” Fans voiced strong protests following the reports.
Initially, the agency didn’t clarify how much time was spent on the fanmeeting and instead wrote, “We deeply regret the unexpected situations that occurred during the event. We will do our best to move forward in a better direction. Above all, we hope that the sincerity of the artist, who did his best under the given circumstances, and the love of the fans who were with him, will not lose their meaning. ”
On September 5, his agency Saram Entertainment returned with a 2nd statement writing, “Since there has been misinformation circulating regarding Lee Soo Hyuk’s fan meeting in China, we are providing an accurate response,” and disclosed detailed information about the event’s schedule.

Since there has been misinformation circulating regarding Lee Soo Hyuk’s fan meeting in China, we are providing an accurate response.
The most frequently asked question has been about the exact performance schedule. Details are as follows (local time):
- Rehearsal viewing: 12:00 ~ 12:15 (approx. 15 minutes)
- Fan meeting performance: 14:00 ~ 18:30 (approx. 4 hours 30 minutes)
- Benefit event (photo session, high-touch): 19:00 ~ 21:00 (approx. 2 hours)
This fan meeting was a meaningful event as it marked Lee Soo Hyuk’s first time meeting fans in 10 years. He personally took part in every preparation process including posters, titles, stage videos, and photoshoots, putting in much effort.
During the fan meeting, due to greater-than-expected enthusiasm, the main performance time was delayed. We continuously checked on the actor’s condition and intentions. He repeatedly expressed his wish to ‘give his best since it had been so long since meeting fans,’ and with that sincerity, he spent more time with fans than originally scheduled.
After the fan meeting ended, the organizers requested that he ‘wait until all fans had left the venue for safety reasons,’ and the actor departed only after confirming that all fans had safely left.
