Beloved Korean Actress Steps Down From Radio Show After 6 Years. Why?

Actress Park Ha Sun has revealed her feelings and her reasons for leaving the radio program she has hosted for six years.

On November 1, Park Ha Sun shared a long handwritten letter on her social media announcing that she is leaving SBS Power FM’s “Park Ha Sun’s Cine Town.”

She began by saying, “Radio Cine Town, which I had always wanted to try, is almost at the six-year mark. I’m truly sad, but I’m setting down my seat here for a while.”

Explaining her decision, she said, “I’m currently doing three regular variety shows and one seasonal variety show, performing in a play, and filming a drama. I’ll be taking on several more projects through next fall, so I decided to stop the radio show, which requires a lot of live broadcasting.” Her packed acting and broadcasting schedule made the decision unavoidable.

She added, “I’m not quitting because I’ve grown tired of radio, so I look forward to meeting again someday. Until then, I’m putting down my DJ role for a while, but I’ll keep living hard in a different form.”

Park Ha Sun also thanked the people who spent so much time with her. Her message went out to her manager, the production staff, the broadcasting station’s security guards and cleaning staff, her guests, her husband Ryu Soo Young, and her daughter. She shared a story about her daughter, who came along to the station during a live broadcast on a holiday and cheered her on, saying that being a DJ is cool and that she should keep doing it.

To her listeners, she wrote, “To all of my beloved ‘Terius’ (the nickname for her listeners), who said warm words and told me I was a comfort and a strength, thank you so much for listening every morning at 11 AM. Thanks to you, I was able to get through these six years well.”

Actress Lee El has been chosen as the new DJ of “Cine Town” and will greet listeners starting November 2.
