Park Seo Joon Responds To Questions About The Lackluster Ratings His Recent Drama “Surely Tomorrow” Received
Actor Park Seo Joon shared his thoughts on low viewership ratings of his recently concluded drama “Surely Tomorrow.”
Recently, Park Seo Joon, who starred in the JTBC weekend drama “Surely Tomorrow,” was met at a café in Gangnam, Seoul.
“Surely Tomorrow” is a romance drama about Lee Gyeong Do (played by Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (played by Won Ji An), who date twice and break up, then reunite as a reporter who exposed an adultery scandal and the wife of the person involved in the scandal, eventually falling in love again. In the drama, Park Seo Joon passionately portrayed Lee Gyeong Do, a deputy entertainment desk reporter and a devoted man who has loved one woman for 18 years.
“Surely Tomorrow” began with a 2.7% viewership rating and ended on a high note with 4.7% in its final episode. Considering the actor’s status as a hallyu actor, the ratings came as a surprise as many expected the drama to do much better.
When asked whether the average rating in the 3% range was disappointing, Park Seo Joon honestly said, “Viewership ratings aren’t something I can control,” while adding, “But I don’t think I can help but think about them. They become a surface-level indicator.”
He continued, “From the perspective of someone doing the work, I hope this project reached many people. The people I worked with were so great, so I hope it remains meaningful to everyone, even just a little.”
Park Seo Joon also said, “I think I finished it well. I worried a lot during filming, but after seeing the completed work, I have no regrets at all. Only a sense of fulfillment remains.”
