“Surely Tomorrow” Ending Explained- Did Kyeong Do And Ji Woo End Up Together?

Ji Woo feels uneasy with everything happening at the moment. Kyeong-Do ends up visiting Dae-Hye in prison. She ends up spilling the secrets about the drugs issue and points to a salesman named Gu Han. She wants him to take down Kang Min-Woo too because of what he’d done to her.

The team is hard at work locating the salesman and doing a report on Kang Min-Woo and his crimes.

When the report comes out, the world collapses on Kang Min-Woo and he’s jailed awaiting trial. His office also gets searched. Seo Ji-Yeon comes to get the secretary who helped him against her and says she can either get probation or rot in jail, she chooses to confess.

Ji Woo still asks about Kyeong-Do and even tries to visit his office to catch a glimpse of him but fails.

Eventually, Kyeong-Do’s parents pool money to help him study abroad. He takes a break from work for about a year. He also meets with Ji Woo who is excited he called her.

Ji Woo encourages him to go and be happy. The two split without saying much. Ji Woo sees him off at the airport and after he leaves, she cries her eyes out.

1 year later

Ji Woo visits Kyeong-Do’s parents and complains about him not reaching out. She says she’s afraid she’d ruin his progress of trying to find happiness. She also gives the parents a picture of her trying on a wedding dress.

Kyeong-Do is currently in Malaga, having fun and working part-time. Ji Woo ends up in Spain and stops by Malaga but fails to catch a glimpse of him, she leaves without seeing him. After she gets back, they both receive a call that Woo-Sik died in a theater while working.

After his burial, both talk but it goes nowhere when he reveals that he’s returning. She’s upset.

The next day, Ji Woo drives fast to see Kyeong-Do before his plane leaves. In voiceover, Kyeong-Do says if life sends him her one last time… and she shows up. She says he shouldn’t leave and she wants him to stay, that she doesn’t mind the adulterous label and needs only him. In the end, both share a hug and return together.

The epilogue

The couple had their test results and they’re doing well and are healthy, Ji Woo asks him what they should do now. He acts ignorant and she says they should have a baby. He tries to talk about calculating the cost, planning and having serious conventions about it, but she drags him so they could have a kid together.
