Park Sung Hoon’s Agency Issues 2nd Different Explanation For Why The Actor Shared A Porn Parody Poster Of “Squid Game” After Severe Backlash
Actor Park Sung Hoon has found himself at the center of controversy after uploading a photo from a Japanese adult video (AV) magazine with a Squid Game concept to his personal social media account. His agency, BH Entertainment, has since provided further clarification, one that differs from the one they offered the day prior.
The controversy began when screenshots of Park Sung Hoon’s now-deleted story were shared widely online. The photo featured imagery mimicking Squid Game, with Japanese text and images of partially nude women gazing at the camera. The explicit content and association with the Squid Game theme drew backlash, especially since Park Sung Hoon is part of the newly released Squid Game Season 2, which premiered on December 26.
On December 31, BH Entertainment stated that Park Sung Hoon intended to forward the image to his manager to raise an issue about it but accidentally uploaded it to his Instagram story. This explanation is not the same as the agency’s initial claim that it was a mistake made while checking direct messages (DMs). They had said, “While checking his messages, he accidentally uploaded the image.”
Netizens pointed out that its not possible to upload an image directly to your stories if you’re simply checking DMs which drew further backlash.
Despite the clarification, many netizens remain skeptical about the updated explanation. Comments on online communities and social media platforms have pointed out inconsistencies and questioned the plausibility of the accident.
The incident continues to generate mixed reactions, with some questioning the credibility of the agency’s explanation and others expressing disappointment in the actor’s actions.
