Prosecution Is Seeking A 4-Year Sentence For Yoo Ah In
The prosecution has requested a sentence of four years in prison and a fine of 2 million won for actor Yoo Ah In, who is accused of drug use.
On the afternoon of the 24th of July, the 25th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court held the seventh trial for Yoo Ah In (real name Uhm Hong-sik), who was indicted for violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic drugs).
In a previous trial, Yoo Ah In admitted to smoking marijuana but claimed that the use of medical narcotics was for medical procedures under the professional judgment of doctors due to depression and panic disorder.
Yoo Ah In denied proxy prescriptions in his family’s name, but in the sixth trial, his primary physician, Dr. A, testified that it was true he issued prescriptions in the name of Yoo Ah In’s family members at his request.
The prosecution stated, “The defendants used their wealth to consume drugs abroad, beyond the reach of investigation agencies, attempted to silence witnesses, and showed contempt for the Korean judicial system.” They added that the gravity of the crime is severe.
Therefore, the prosecution demanded a sentence of four years in prison and a fine of 2 million won [$1,444] for Yoo Ah In, and a four-year prison term for his acquaintance, Mr. Choi.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In is accused of habitually using four types of medical narcotics—propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam—181 times under the guise of sedation for cosmetic procedures.
Yoo Ah In’s side has denied the allegations of proxy prescriptions, attempts to destroy evidence, and encouraging his acquaintance to use marijuana, which surfaced during the investigation.
Do you think this is a fair sentencing request for Yoo Ah In?

He hurt nobody….. the only person that is damaged from this situation is really only him. Yet they want to charge him almost the same sentence that a person got for r wording someone.
