One Of The Biggest Veteran Actors Steps Down From Highly Anticipated Drama Due To Delays
Veteran actor Song Kang Ho is leaving “Inside Men”!
On July 11, a representative of Song Kang Ho confirmed to OSEN, “Due to delays in the drama Inside Men’s schedule, he has inevitably stepped down.”
Inside Men is a drama based on the unfinished webtoon of the same name by writer Yoon Tae Ho. The story was previously adapted into a film that received critical acclaim, and a drama version has been in development. Song Kang Ho had been slated to play the role of Lee Kang Hee, originally portrayed by actor Baek Yoon Shik in the movie. However, with the filming schedule being pushed back, he ultimately decided to step down.
Originally planned as a two-season production, the drama Inside Men will now be made as a single 12-episode season, which led to the rescheduling of filming.
The drama, set against the backdrop of significant events and figures from the 1980s to the 1990s, will star Lee Sung Min, Koo Kyo Hwan, Soo Ae, Lee Moo Saeng, Shin Seung Ho, and Kim Ji Yeon.
Director Mo Wan Il, known for Misty and The World of the Married, will helm the series, while screenwriter Lee Ki Chul, who wrote The Thieves, Assassination, and Escape from Mogadishu, will pen the script. Production is underway, aiming to begin filming within the year, with HYBE Media Corp handling production as with the film.
