“Taxi Driver” Season 3 Is Coming In 2025, Here Is What We Know So Far

“Taxi Driver” is returning with Season 3!

On February 6, SBS officially announced, “The new season of the ‘Taxi Driver’ series, ‘Taxi Driver 3’ (written by Oh Sangho, directed by Kang Bosung), has been confirmed for the SBS lineup in the second half of 2025.”

Based on a webtoon of the same name, the Taxi Driver series follows Kim Dogi, a taxi driver for the secretive company Rainbow Taxi, as he takes revenge on behalf of victims who can’t get justice. Known for its unique concept of a “revenge proxy service” and its exhilarating justice-driven stories, the drama has become a symbol of satisfaction for viewers, blending cathartic moments with dynamic caper elements.

With each season, the chemistry between the Rainbow Taxi members has grown stronger. Main character Kim Dogi’s (played by Lee Je Hoon) diverse disguises and the team’s synergy captivated viewers, not just in Korea but globally. “Taxi Driver 2” reached a peak rating of 25.6% (Nielsen Korea, Seoul metropolitan area), becoming the highest-rated mini-series of 2023. It also topped viewership charts in 16 countries within ten days of its release.

Thanks to its immense popularity, Taxi Driver will return for a third season. The original cast members—Lee Je Hoon as the star driver Kim Dogi, Kim Eui Sung as Rainbow Taxi CEO Jang Sungchul, Pyo Ye Jin as hacker Go Eun, and Jang Hyuk Jin and Bae Yu Ram as engineer duo—are reuniting once again.

Writer Oh Sangho, who created the Taxi Driver universe, will return to pen the new season, while Kang Bosung, who co-directed Dr. Romantic 3, will take the helm as director.

The production team shared, “Taxi Driver 3 will retain all the charming elements of the previous seasons while expanding its world even further. We’re working hard to repay the love and support from fans. We’ll be back with an exhilarating and refreshing story that shows why Taxi Driver is the pinnacle of Korean caper dramas.”

Taxi Driver 3 will premiere in the second half of 2025.
