T.O.P Makes 1st Ever Public Appearance In South Korea In 8 Years, Attends “Squid Game 3” Finale Fan Event
Actor Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P) says he doesn’t feel regret about not appearing in season 3.
On June 28, Choi Seung Hyun attended the “Squid Game” finale fan event held in front of Seoul City Hall. When asked whether he felt disappointed about not being in season 3, he replied, “I did enough bad things in season 2 and paid for them. I didn’t have any lingering attachment to appearing in season 3.”
He added with a smile, “Nam Gyu (played by No Jae Won) bad-mouthed me a lot. It felt strange.”
Choi Seung Hyun played a washed-up rapper named Thanos, one of the game participants, in “Squid Game 2,” which was released in December last year. It marked his return to acting for the first time in nine years since 2015.
On stage with Lee Da Wit, No Jae Won, and Won Ji An, he said, “I’m very thankful to have been part of such a great project. I learned a lot.”
While Choi Seung Hyun’s character Thanos died in season 2, he does make a special appearance in season 3. Near the end of the season, Min Su (played by Lee Da Wit) experiences a hallucination where he sees Thanos again.
This event marked Choi Seung Hyun’s first time standing in front of fans since his 2017 conviction for drug use. Although he did request an official interview with reporters earlier this year, this was the first time in 8 years that he interacted directly with fans. It was also his first interview appearance in 11 years since the 2014 film “Tazza: The Hidden Card.”
