On the boat, Jun-Ho finds Kyung-Suk (player 246) who says he’s not with them and was trying to escape. He points to the island and Jun Ho informs the police.
The frontman is aware of the danger. Jun Ho takes the scuba diving equipment and goes to the island while waiting for the police to show up.
Myung-Gi, Gi Hun and the baby are the final players and they’re told to advance to the next round and cross a bridge. However, Myung-Gi holds a pole and demands he hands in the baby and not come any closer. Gi Hun tells him if he handles the baby, he will have to either kill himself or the baby.
No-Eul sets the records cabinet on fire and as she’s about to exit, she catches a glimpse of a file and reads it. She finds out the record they kept on her and sees they wrote her daughter died.
Gi Hun hands over the baby and as the time limit ends, he jumps in with a knife to fight Myung Gi. The two men fight and ultimately, they both are about to fall to their death as they fight and slip. Myung Gi holds onto Gi Hun’s jacket but ends up falling for his death. Gi Hun manages to get up and he’s told both players, the baby and him advance to the final stage.
Gi Hun then stares at the camera and says, ‘humans are not horses, we’re humans,’ before jumping to his death. No-Eul sees this and is also about to kill herself but hearing the baby cries, she stops it.
As Jun Ho gets up to the island, he finds out there are explosives everywhere, everybody leaves as the island evacuates. Jun ho manages to catch a glimpse of his brother taking the baby and yells why, the frontman does not respond. Jun Ho could not shoot him.
6 months later
At the amusement park we see that player 246 is alive and ok with his daugher. No Eul visits and gives her a present but does not say who she is. As No Eul leaves the park, a woman calls her about her daughter who is presumed alive.
Choi Woo-Seok exits his stay in prison and is welcomed by Jun Ho and another man. They wonder who took the money in the hotel. As Jun Ho goes back home, he sees the same baby in this place with the envelope and the golden card. Its presumed to be left by his brother. The baby has over 45 billion won to its name.
Sae Byeok mother reunites with her kid and we see that No Eul is going to China to see if her daughter is there.
Choi Woo-Seok buys the same motel where they did the operation, the same one where the money was stolen and says they will revamp it.
In the U.S. The frontman visits Gi Hun’s daughter and gives her his belongings saying he died. She is also given a golden credit card.
As he exits the place, he stumbles upon another of their agents playing a game with a homeless man, the person is played by Cate Blanchett who nods and acknowledges him, we now know these games are also played in the U.S.

Squid Game 3” ending review
well… that was . something…
I mean, I expected it from the get-go, but it’s still just…
I must say, it feels unnecessary to me. The 2nd and 3rd seasons feel like that, just empty. I get the idea they’re trying to paint but it was so obvious with season 1, we didn’t need two more seasons that took years to make to solidify that point.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s acted well and directed well, and mostly written well, but its not on the same level as season 1. Not only that, but you can tell the original story was never meant for a 2nd season.
I mentioned this in my Season 2 ending review, but I just don’t understand what Gi Hun was even trying to accomplish with this. You can trace back such reckless behavior to his gambling addiction, which makes for a very interesting conversation, but it’s all useless. What he did was useless.
Above all else, even his actions feel performative in my eyes, because if you spend 5 minutes of deep thinking about this subject, you’d know how difficult it is to do anything about the games. We can see that clearly, we saw that clearly with season 1, they won, and he lost, he ultimately lost.
The person who tackles this must have mass surveillance abilities [hackers perhaps] and a lot of money to spare. The best way around it would’ve been to install a spy in the games, and then attack from the outside. This entire 2nd round of squid game doesn’t do anything for me.
You can tell Director Hwang felt pressured to do these seasons, and you can clearly tell its been hell for him because he just could NOT stop complaining about it at every press event. I wasn’t even paying that close of attention but in every tweet or conversation online, the dude is talking about how hard it was for him. my guy, we get it.
Overall, there is no denying a lot of hard work went into this, and I don’t mind sad endings. Actually, it makes sense this ended with such a sad tone, but its not a likeable ending, and I suspect many will not like the ending because most audiences like endings to at least give some hope, this one doesn’t.
