tvN’s “Signal” Season 2 is set to air in 2026!

On February 10, during the “CJ ENM Content Talk 2025” event held at CJ ENM in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Park Sang Hyuk, head of the Channel Business Department at CJ ENM’s Media Business Division, introduced tvN’s content strategy and major lineup for this year.

tvN will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. In celebration, one of its representative dramas, “Signal,” will return with “The Second Signal” next year.

During the event, a video message from Kim Hye Soo, one of the actors in “Signal” Season 2, was revealed. Kim Hye Soo said, “Our actors and production team will do our best during filming. I hope everyone stays strong in 2025, and please look forward to the new ‘Signal’ and give it lots of love.”

“Signal” Season 2 marks the return of the 2016 drama that aired on tvN starring Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and Jo Jin Woong. The series captivated viewers with its thrilling concept of solving unsolved cases inspired by real-life incidents. In the drama, detectives from the past and present connect via a mysterious radio to solve these cold cases. The first season achieved an average viewership rating of 13.4%, with a peak of 15%, making it one of tvN’s most successful dramas.

Previously, “Signal” writer Kim Eun Hee revealed in March last year at the “The Power of K-Content: Secrets Behind the Korean Drama Boom” event held at La Sapienza University in Rome that she was preparing for Season 2 in collaboration with production company BA Entertainment.

The original cast has also shown strong interest in returning. Lee Je Hoon, who played profiler Park Hae Young; Kim Hye Soo, who portrayed detective Cha Soo Hyun; and Jo Jin Woong, who played detective Lee Jae Han, have all expressed their hopes for a second season at various official events.

Meanwhile, “CJ ENM Content Talk 2025” also highlighted CJ ENM’s tvN and TVING content strategies and major projects for the year, with opportunities to meet creators from CJ ENM.

CJ ENM celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The company announced plans for its largest content investment ever, exceeding last year’s by 150 billion won [around $103,362,022]. This investment will support approximately 65 new dramas and variety shows across tvN and TVING (excluding Mnet) to lead the content ecosystem.
