Yoo Seung Ho’s Past Stance On Public Dating Resurfaces After News Of His 6-Year Relationship And Recent Breakup
As news broke that Yoo Seung Ho broke up with actress Lim Se Joo after dating for 6 years, the views he shared about public relationships in the past are drawing attention again.
On October 8, when dating rumors between Yoo Seung Ho and Lim Se Joo emerged, both agencies stated that the two had dated for 6 years but recently broke up. The two reportedly met when they appeared together in tvN’s drama “Memorist” in 2020.
As the fact that Yoo Seung Ho had a long-term relationship for 6 years became known only now, surprising many, attention is also turning to the careful stance on public dating he expressed in a past interview.
In an interview with BizEnter in July 2017, while talking about his dating experiences, Yoo Seung Ho confided that he wants to try various experiences as an actor, but it is difficult to act freely because of the public eye. He then said, “At some point, I started to feel an aversion to so-called ‘scandals,’” adding, “I wonder why dating articles should be pointed at.”
Regarding the view that celebrities should open up their entire private lives because of their profession, he shared, “I can open up about other things, but there’s no guarantee that I will marry the person who appeared in a dating article.” He continued, “Once an article comes out, the photos and text stay on the internet, and it would be really sorry for the person I will marry in the future and my child,” revealing the burden he feels about reports on dating.
He finished by saying, “I think it’s a difference in perspective, but personally, I feel a bit uneasy about it,” showing a cautious attitude toward public relationships.
In another media interview the same year, when asked about his dating experiences, Yoo Seung Ho answered, “It’s not that I have no experience,” but kept the details to himself as his own memories.
Meanwhile, Yoo Seung Ho enlisted in 2013 at the age of 19, right as the former child actor was entering his prime, and has shown a firm stance on military service as well. He is currently holding his first personal film photo exhibition, “Blue Hour,” taking on a new challenge as a photographer beyond acting.
